Émilie Dequenne, a loyal friend of Premiers Plans

We welcomed her alongside the Dardenne brothers in January 2000, fresh from winning the Best Actress award at Cannes for her first film, Rosetta.

Three years later, in 2003, she was a member of the Jury chaired by Jeanne Moreau, alongside Krzysztof Zanussi.

In 2017, she took part in our tribute to the Dardenne brothers, surrounded by their performers.

In 2019, with Xavier Kawa-Topor, we invited her to Fontevraud Abbey to read the screenplay for Charlie Belin's Drôles d'oiseaux.

With two acting prizes at Cannes, four Magritte awards and a César, Émilie Dequenne was a renowned actress, demanding and luminous, who knew how to remain simple, curious and enthusiastic.

In too short a time, she has given us so much.
