Damian Kocur is a director, scriptwriter and cinematographer. A doctoral student and teacher at the Lodz Film School, he is the author of several short films that have won awards around the world, including the school film Moje serce (My Heart) (2019), presented at Premiers Plans in 2021. Chleb i sól (Bread and Salt) (2022), his first feature film, won the Special Jury Prize in the Orizzonti competition at the Venice Film Festival, before going on to win awards at numerous other festivals. As It Was (2023), his first produced short, was in competition at Premiers Plans in 2024. Pod wulkanem (Under the Volcano) is his second feature film.
