Borgman
Alex van Warmerdam
Camiel Borgman turns up on the quiet streets of a wealthy suburb, and rings the doorbell of a well-to-do family. But who is he? A dream, a demon, an allegory or the very real embodiment of our fears?

It is from the dimension of a sunny daytime tale, with urban legends rubbing shoulders with the primitive forces of the forest (with the incredible tracking scene at the beginning, revealing the underground hideaways where Borgman’s fellows live), that the film draws its peculiar charm: a kind of blank, vague dreaminess, shrouding its surgical murderous mechanics in a veil of gentleness and enchantment.
