Gilbert and Sullivan are neighbours on a small archipelago in the middle of the ocean where Sullivan plays the fiscorn, practicing all day long in front of his house, and Gilbert distributes the packages that fall from the sky. But one day Gilbert decides to keep a package that was intended for his neighbour. Inexplicably, that morning, Gilbert leaves his duty to one side and decides not to deliver the parcel to its addressee. This decision changes the course of their friendship forever.

Arturo Lacal, Alex Salu and Jordi Jiménez are three Spanish directors. Together they made Gilbert, their first joint film. The three met on a stop-motion animation course and released the short film Haiku, which later inspired Gilbert. They have experience and training in the visual arts (in addition to stop-motion) in painting, illustration,
drawing, set design, post-production, editing and graphic design. Arturo Lacal is responsible for animation, Alex Salu for art and Jordi Jiménez for character design. Gilbert is the result of their love of stop-motion and respect for the authentic, the
palpable and the original.
