Carte blanche to Beijing First Film Festival

Good news: two festivals thousands of kilometres apart have joined forces in the search of first films and young directors in Europe and Asia. Beijing First Film Festival, for its 4th edition, and the Angers’ Festival Premier Plans, for its 24th, have become partners to share a selection of European and Asian first films with their audiences.

4th Beijing First Film Festival – 26 October / 9 November 2011
French producer and actress, Julie Gayet (Huit fois debout by Xabi Molia), Greek filmmaker Athina Rachel Tsangari (Attenberg), and Romanian director Bogdan George Apetri (Morgen) have made up the first delegation who has presented 7 European first features and 12 shorts in China. Jeanne Moreau, loyal friend of Premiers Plans and artistic director of the Ateliers d’Angers, has been our guiding muse through the masterpieces assembled for her tribute retrospective organised by
the young Beijing First Film Festival.

24th Festival Premiers Plans d’Angers – 20 / 29 January 2012
The Festival will present a selection of short and feature Chinese films discovered at the Beijing First Film Festival. Several filmakers will travel to Angers with their films.
