The Angers Workshops, initiated by Jeanne Moreau, are directed toward young filmmakers with one or two short films to their credit and a first feature film in the works. This training is designed to give them support as they take that crucial step into the world of feature films. The Workshops will offer them: - Screenings and analyses of film classics from the past and present. - Training with established filmmakers and technicians who will bring to the classroom their professional experience and methods. - Development of their personal projects under the guidance of the attending instructors, with emphasis on specific questions concerning directing, editing, music and sound, working with actors, production...

Eligibility requirements

- Young filmmakers with one or two short films to their credit and a first fiction feature film in the works (full script). - Young filmmakers from European Union or from one of the following countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

Programme of the participants

Screenings Each day will begin with the screening of a film classic chosen and presented by a guest instructor. MASTERCLASS The guest directors and film professionals will elaborate on a specific aspect of their filmography. Private interviews The young filmmakers will be able to engage the expertise of the instructors to answer specific questions concerning their first feature film projects. Lab works Each young filmmaker will be asked to make a video postal card; to be screened at the end of the Workshops
